Process Mapping

Process Mapping is a group tool that achieves participation, solution-focus, and reflection of project tasks that are managed by the project manager and performed by a set of stakeholders. Another name for stakeholder is a project task team member. These are the people that are involved and effected by the project. holistic Business Process Management (hBPM) with Process Mapping is a method developed by Dr. Gappmaier of GappBridging, LLC

Process Mapping is normally done by one person through observations and interviews and then recording existing processes and future ideal processes with electronic support software, also known as process modeling software.

The as-is and future process suggestions are then presented to the team and everyone agrees on the steps, project and task schedule and budget. A great application of process mapping is project task management. This will pre-organize the tasks and most of all sell the stakeholders on the project much more than a dictated project task assignment.
