5.  Incremental Change

Incremental Change leadership styles provides more thorough planning activities that lead to step-by-step scheduled process change introduction, training, and implementation. Compared to radical change, where process change may as well be planned, incremental change styles give participants a greater notice before implementation of a new system. In radical change, the notice time is either very short or employees are simply not forewarned of an upcoming change at all.

As previously discussed, incremental change styles are resonant. This means that dissonant leadership styles are not considered resonant at all. This makes the leadership method purely focused on the needs of the employees’ needs first and organizational processes and IT systems second. Therefore, it can be expected that a process change project takes much longer than in radical change.
